These precious moments, etched in our memories as parents, are often nurtured within the welcoming walls of our local school pools. For over 40 years, Felix Swim Schools has been a part of countless such milestones, witnessing the transformation of hesitant children into confident swimmers. But now, a quiet fear is rippling through our community: the very places where these memories are made, all 66 school pools in Toronto, are facing the real threat of closure, including the 27 publicly accessible ones that are the lifeblood of so many learn-to-swim programs. As parents, we need to understand the profound impact this will have on our children and why we must rise up to protect these vital spaces.
